Emily Vander Velden, LPC-IT, is a master’s level clinician with a degree in community counseling from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She has a background in substance abuse treatment, dual diagnoses, and trauma-informed care. Emily approaches her work with individuals, families, and couples from a systemic perspective. She uses an eclectic approach in her work, focusing on developing rapport and establishing a safe space for personal recovery and progress. Emily believes it is her job as a therapist to help individuals, families, and couples find their own solutions through strengths-based, supportive and person-centered counseling approaches. She borrows from the philosophies and interventions of dialectical behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy to help achieve insight and reach treatment goals. Emily has experience working with couples, families, and individuals with depression, anxiety, and attachment-related challenges. Emily is available for appointments on Mondays.
