Sees: Adolescents 15 and older, adults, couples, and families.
Treatment Specialties: Anna's background in social work has informed her of systems and environments that impact mental health; this has allowed Anna to approach therapy with a person-in-environment lens where the impact of families, schools, oppression, and culture are recognized. By recognizing factors that may contribute to one's mental suffering, Anna works with clients to identify realistic goals and implement changes to reach those identified goals. Anna has experience working with individuals who have presented with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm and suicide, relationship issues, identity issues, traumas, grief, psychosis, PNES, establishing boundaries, and addictions/compulsive behaviors. Anna enjoys working with teens, adults, and couples. Anna typically makes her space welcoming and supportive by meeting clients where they are at in the mental health journey, incorporates humor, provides fidgets and other sensory toys, and utilizes creative techniques to support learning in clients.
Training and Experience: Anna has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Anna received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in mental health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Anna is an approved basic training EMDR provider and is trained and certified in CCS.
Techniques: Anna uses a client-centered approach where Anna will meet clients where they are at and will incorporate skills from CBT and DBT. Anna also provides EMDR to support clients with overcoming traumas.
