Treatment Specialties: As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Caroline works from a strengths based systemic perspective. Her hope is to create a collaborative and safe therapeutic environment in which her clients feel supported. She enjoys working with a wide variety of presenting issues, including relationship issues, communication skills, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, goal setting, and stress management. She also helps clients with trauma and grief/loss. While she sees a variety of clients, Caroline particularly enjoys working with couples and adult individuals in life-stage transitions of their lives and personal relationships. She works to be an ally and safe space for these communities: LGBTQ+, Body Positive, Sex-Positive & Kink, Open relationships Non-Monogamy, Racial Justice
Training and Experience: Caroline has her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science from Indiana University-Bloomington. She is a Prepare/Enrich (pre-marital and/or relationship assessment) Certified Facilitator.
Techniques: Caroline is a collaborative therapist meaning that, while she has the tools and education to offer insight and assistance, she believes you are the expert of your own experiences. She wants to work with you and your natural talents/abilities to help you lead a happier, healthier life and achieve your goals. While every client is different - Caroline typically always offers solution-focused strategies, explores family of origin patterns, development of coping strategies, as well as works to increase positive self- talk and self-compassion. She also utilizes techniques from Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Contextual Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy based on the needs of the client.
