Treatment Specialties: Cathy has experience working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults to help develop anger management and mindfulness, and communication skills, as well as coping strategies to successfully manage stress. She has worked with couples and families to improve communication and conflict-resolution skills. Cathy collaborates with the client and believes that changes are brought about with client-centered goal planning. She provides a safe environment to encourage open communication regarding struggles and difficulties, as well as successes and accomplishments.

Training and Experience Cathy earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from East Tennessee State University and a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Counseling from East Tennessee State University. Her master level internship was spent working as a counselor at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Bristol Virginia. After graduation Cathy worked with families experiencing homelessness and as a therapist at Woodridge Psychiatric Hospital in Johnson City, TN. As a therapist at Woodridge hospital, Cathy worked with children, adolescents, families, adults and couples. For the past six years Cathy has worked as a Clinical Coordinator with a program in Dane County schools.

Techniques Cathy uses solution focused, client-centered, narrative, cognitive behavior, and collaborative therapy to serve clients. She offers an LGBTQ friendly environment.
