Treatment Specialties: Crystal uses a systemic approach to teach and provide insight into destructive patterns that clients display. She helps them to understand why they continue the cycles of their behavior and helps produce change that is desired. She also works with blended families to ensure success in the transitions of divorce, separation, and remarriage. In addition, Crystal has a history of facilitating parental education groups, support groups, and dual diagnosis groups for adults that suffer from mental health and/or substance abuse issues. She has worked extensively with the foster care system and knows a great deal about children’s issues including attachment, mental health, and trauma.
Training and Experience: Crystal has studied at the renowned Hazelden Center for Youth and Family in Plymouth, MN and has a Master’s degree from Edgewood College. She has CCS training, cultural diversity training, and training for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Treatment.
Techniques: Crystal uses Solution-Focused treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and systemic therapy.
