Treatment Specialties: Kayla bring compassion and theory to every individual she works with. She uses a variety of different therapeutic modalities including but not limited to solution focused, client-centered, cognitive behavioral theory, and many more. Kayla listens to what each person needs from therapy and adjusts her approach to best suit the person sitting with her so that they have a partner in walking through whatever challenges have brought them to her. She is also an LGBTQ+ ally.
Training and Experience: Kayla has a bachelor’s degree from Viterbo University in Psychology with a focus in substance abuse. She graduated from Winona State University in 2020 amongst the pandemic and an ever-changing world. Kayla has experience working within many different systems and populations. She has worked within the corrections systems, public service, human service systems, geriatric population, and private practice settings.
Techniques: Kayla has experience with children, adolescents, adults, individuals with disabilities and long-term medical conditions, geriatric population, couples, families, and individuals within the corrections system (youth-adult). Kayla enjoys working with clients to discuss effective communication skills, problem solving, goal setting, co-parenting and parenting skills, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma and much more. Kayla believes in a systems approach where she assists people with their presenting concerns and make lasting changes for their future.
